| Packing inserts | 2,600 | 350 | 3 weeks | 1,750 | 0 | Stock covered |
How these numbers are calculated
Reorder point = weekly demand × (lead time in weeks + safety stock weeks), rounded up. Suggested order = the positive difference between the reorder point and stock on hand, rounded up. The model excludes open orders, minimum order quantities, seasonality, and batch sizes. It is a demonstration, not a purchasing recommendation.
SAMPLE WORKSPACE / SOURCING
Look beyond unit price.
| Supplier | Unit price | Freight | Total cost | Cost per unit | Lead time |
|---|
Comparison assumptions
Total cost = quantity × quoted unit price + fixed freight. Cost per unit = total cost ÷ quantity. Quotes assume the same specification. Taxes, duties, volume discounts, availability, quality, and payment terms are excluded; review those before selecting a real supplier.
